The second half reaction

"We gave an advantage to the opposition due to our lack of concentration from set pieces, which we should have defender better. These details meant that we went behind twice on the scoresheet. In the second half we began better. We felt better with more space. Our transitions were good and we had real chances to score goals. It's a pity that we conceded so many. I would highlight our ability to overcome adversity and take a point at a tough ground to visit."

Guedes' performance

"Gonçalo is s agreat player, and seeing him performing at this level pleases us all. We trust that he will keep this up until the end of the season. He was vital today with his goal, with his hard work and his runs with and without the ball. He is a great player and the credit has to go completely to him and his teammates. I try to help Gonçalo and the rest of the team to feel good and work well collectively, to earn many wins from now until the end of the season."

Changes in the second half

"We needed a player who could complement Gonçalo, who could be a reference and get into the box to finish. I think that it was the right moment to bring in Cutrone, and he had some good minutes that helped us to take this point. I am also happy with Piccini's recovery. We are happy whenever any player who has gone through an injury gets the reward of minutes on the pitch. At the start of the game we had the option of bringing him on for Correia, but I didn't think that it was the opportunity to put Piccini on; I didn't think that it was good for him to play so many minutes."

Adapting to difficulties

"My players have convinced me with their everyday work and commitment. I don't need them to do especially well in a specific game to believe in their possibilities. Today the circumstances came together and we took a point that was down to the efforts of everybody. Players like Thierry, Carlos and Uros had to go off with injuries, and we adapted. If we had been a little more effective with some breaks, then we would have maybe taken the three points."

The formation

"Each lineup that I field is the best for the game. In terms of the system, we opted for changes. It isn't the same playing with Wass on the wing as with Yunus, nor with Lato or Cheryshev inside. It is the most predominant formation that we have used this season, but we have changed at times in this campaign."
